FETA submits Single Constructor Regulation consultation response

Following a final member workshop on the Single Constructor Regulation consultation, FETA has submitted its response strongly supporting the creation of a unified body to reduce fragmentation and place resident safety first.

The response backs clearer duties, risk‑based enforcement, interoperable digital systems, and improved competence requirements across the construction ecosystem. FETA has highlighted persistent gaps in enforcement, inconsistent competency expectations, UK testing limitations, and SME transition challenges. The response also calls for common digital standards, transparent product information, and robust behavioural codes with meaningful oversight.
